La conférence portera sur la mission de BBHR2020 après les deux explosions du 4 août 2020 qui ont détruit une grande partie du port de Beyrouth et affecté largement son environnement urbain. Ils ont été ressentis jusqu'à plusieurs dizaines de kilomètres et ont endommagé un grand nombre de bâtiments historiques, en particulier dans les zones de Medawar, Port, Rmeil, Saifi et Achrafieh.
En raison de l'ampleur des dégâts, 40 experts et restaurateurs du patrimoine ont lancé le Beirut Built Heritage Rescue 2020 (BBHR2020), sous l'égide de la Direction générale des antiquités (DGA)
L’initiative BBHR2020 a été mise en place le 6 août et vise à préserver le patrimoine architectural et urbain de Beyrouth dans les quartiers fragilisés par l’explosion du 4 août.
The talk will focus on BBHR2020's mission after the two explosions of August 4, 2020 who destroyed a large part of the port of Beirut and largely affected its urban environment. They were felt up to several tens of kilometers and damaged a large number of historic buildings, in particular in the Medawar, Port, Rmeil, Saifi and Achrafieh areas.
Due to the extent of the damage, 40 heritage experts and restorers, launched the Beirut Built Heritage Rescue 2020 (BBHR2020), under the aegis of the General Directorate of Antiquities (DGA)
The BBHR2020 initiative was put in place on August 6 and aims to preserve Beirut's architectural and urban heritage in neighborhoods weakened by the August 4’s explosion.
Grace Rihan Hanna
Grace Rihan Hanna est une architecte-restauratrice et designer aux multiples facettes. Elle fait également partie des 40 architectes-restaurateurs libanais motivés, qui ont lancé une mission d'urgence au lendemain des 2 explosions du 4 août, baptisée Beirut Built Heritage Rescue 2020: BBHR2020.
Grace a obtenu son diplôme en 1986 avec une haute distinction de l'Université libanaise. Elle a immigré en France en 1990 avant la fin de la guerre civile libanaise, où elle a créé un cabinet d'architecture avec son mari Fouad Hanna. De retour au Liban en 1995, elle a travaillé et a décidé de poursuivre ses études supérieures, obtenant son diplôme avec une spécialisation en restauration de sites et monuments historiques en 2003.
Depuis, elle travaille sur des projets personnels d'architecture et de restauration. Elle est enseignante à l'Université libanaise à la Faculté des Beaux-Arts et d'Architecture depuis 2007 et est récemment devenue membre de l'ICOMOS Liban.
En 2008, elle a ouvert son propre showroom design sous "atelierG by grace rihan".
Grace Rihan Hanna is a multi-facetted architect-restorer and designer. She is also one out of 40 Lebanese self-motivated architect-restorers, who launched an emergency mission one day after the 2 explosions of August 4th, named Beirut Built Heritage Rescue 2020: BBHR2020.
Grace graduated in 1986 with high distinction from the Lebanese University. She immigrated to France in 1990 before the end of the Lebanese civil war, where she started an architecture firm with her husband Fouad Hanna. After returning to Lebanon in 1995, she worked and decided to continue her higher studies, graduating with a specialization in restoration of historical sites and monuments by 2003. Since then, she has been working on personal architectural and restoration projects. She has been a teaching instructor at the Lebanese University at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture since 2007 and recently became a member of ICOMOS Lebanon.
In 2008 she opened her own showroom design under "atelierG by grace rihan".
