The presentation is a part of an on-going text-based qualitative data analysis that lead to identifying topics, themes, and issues related to Lebanon’s art stories.
In this talk, Zéna will present the main periods, as acknowledged in various texts that will highlight how periodization operates and identify related concepts such as identity, sectarianism, the ‘principles’ of good/bad art, the concept of the ‘real’, and the question of art as a social practice/autonomous.
Zéna meskaoui is a Senior Lecturer at LAU in Art History and Theory.Her research lies in the artistic and cultural production inLebanon.
